Thursday Prayer and Devotion

 Thursday Devotion

 Psalm 31

In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge;
         Let me never be ashamed.
   In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
         Incline Your ear to me and save me.
    Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come;
         You have given commandment to save me,
         For You are my rock and my fortress.
    Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,
         Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,
    For You are my hope;
         O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.
    By You I have been sustained from my birth;
         You are He who took me from my mother's womb;
         My praise is continually of You.
    I have become a marvel to many,
         For You are my strong refuge.
    My mouth is filled with Your praise
         And with Your glory all day long.
    Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
         Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
    For my enemies have spoken against me;
         And those who watch for my life have consulted together,
    Saying, "God has forsaken him;
         Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."
    O God, do not be far from me;
         O my God, hasten to my help!
    Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed;
         Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me. But as for me, I will hope continually,
         And will praise You yet more and more.
    My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
         And of Your salvation all day long;
         For I do not know the sum of them.
    I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD;
         I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.
    O God, You have taught me from my youth,
         And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.
    And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me,
         Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
         Your power to all who are to come.
    For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens,
         You who have done great things;
         O God, who is like You?
    You who have shown me many troubles and distresses
         Will revive me again,
         And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
    May You increase my greatness
         And turn to comfort me.
    I will also praise You with a harp,
         Even Your truth, O my God;
         To You I will sing praises with the lyre,
         O Holy One of Israel.
    My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
         And my soul, which You have redeemed.
    My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long;
         For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.

                                                       A prayer by Prophetess Roberts

Father, we thank you on this day called Thursday for allowing us to see another day. We thank you for health and strength. We thank you for your kindness and mercy, which are new every day. We thank you for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to who you are. Thank you for allowing us to know you as God! Father, we thank you for Salvation and Redemption.

Father, we ask that you watch over us as we go out to meet the demands of this day. Father, we pray for peace and harmony in our lives today and in the lives of our families and friends. Father, we pray for broken homes and broken marriages today. We pray that you will give us tolerance to deal with each other's short comings, weaknesses, and fears.

Father, we come before you this day, placing all our cares on You because You said that you care for us. You said that You would never leave us or forsake us. Father, we pray for those who are troubled in their spirits today. We pray that you will give them comfort. Father, allow them to know that there is nothing too hard for God and that you are a deliverer in times of trouble.

Father, teach us how to walk in the Spirit. Teach us Father how to wait in the Spirit and find peace and rest for our souls. Father, sometimes life gets hard, teach us how to endure hardness like a good soldier. Father, teach us how to wear Your Armor with honor and truth. Father help us to Stand!!

The Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
